Connor Brown
I am a third generation land surveyor and have been around the surveying profession my entire life. I started working in surveying professionally as a rodman with EGA & Associates in Lufkin (Michael Parker, RPLS 4527). I then moved into the office as a CAD Technician with Texas Surveying Associates in Lufkin (A.L. Hargraves, RPLS 2075). I interned as a CAD Technician with ELS Surveying & Mapping Inc in Tyler (E. L. "Buster" Sartain RPLS 1978) while finishing up my degree. After working as a GIS Technician for a few years with the San Jacinto County Appraisal District after college, I decided I wanted to get back into surveying and worked as a CAD Technician/Instrument Man/Survey Party Chief with the City of Conroe (Steven Estes, RPLS 5631 and Bill Patterson, RPLS 6030). Needing more boundary experience to get licensed, I then moved to Goodwin-Lasiter-Strong in Lufkin (Gary Brown, RPLS 4654) as an Instrument Man/Survey Tech/Project Surveyor/Survey Department Manager. I obtained my SIT in 2009 and my RPLS in 2012. In 2014, I transitioned back to ELS Surveying & Mapping, Inc in Tyler as a Project Surveyor and became licensed in New Mexico and Colorado in 2016 and Oklahoma in 2018. I am currently the Vice President of ELS Surveying & Mapping, Inc. My experience in surveying includes route surveys, civil design/topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys for commercial and residential properties, large acreage boundary surveys, and oil and gas regulatory/permitting surveys. I have been involved in surveying projects across Texas (in 74 counties so far) and in Southeastern New Mexico.
